Tokyo Javilex did us proud again at Sedgefield finishing second in the Renew Holdings Handicap Hurdle.  Possibly the ground might have been a bit fast for him but he still ran really well. He is entered for Ffos Las on Saturday and Market Rasen as well.

We also have other entries but the are all ground dependant so we are not sure what’s happening at the moment.

There is one horse that won’t mind the ground though. On Friday, at Wincanton, Loch Garman runs and he goes well on fast ground so we are hopeful for a big run. He ran well last time at Chepstow under the experienced Conor O’Farrell and should improve for that.

We started clipping this week as a lot of other trainers did. It’s a tricky job at the best of times and some horses really resent it but it has to be done and lucky for us we have some very capable staff here that can handle just about any difficult horse. It is essential though to allow the horses to cool down and dry out quicker.

We are all waiting for rain at the moment so we can run some of our soft ground horses. It’s been an unusually dry period and very frustrating for all concerned patience is the key! It’s very tempting to run when races look easy but it’s a long season and rain will arrive sooner or later.
