Nigel Hawke’s Thorne Farm Racing Blog 12 March 2018

The other week was a quiet one for us here at Thorne Farm Racing due to the weather…

The weather set us back a little, we had at least 2ft of snow sat on the gallops. Eddie was battling with the tractor to get it cleared up as soon as possible so the horses didn’t miss out on any exercise.

We had a little excitement this week due to the arrival of a lovely mare named Sheer Poetry. She has settled in very well and has some lovely form which we hope to keep improving.

This week we have plenty of upcoming runners, we have races at Taunton and Stratford on Monday and Sedgefield on Tuesday. With the yard getting bigger and lovely quality horses coming through, fingers crossed we could add the Cheltenham Festival to the list next year. We may not have any runners this year but Nigel and Eddie are off to the Cheltenham sales on Thursday. Hopefully they can find the next yard superstar to join Speredek at the Grade 1 level.
