Nigel Hawke’s Thorne Farm Racing Blog- Friday 3rd August 2018

On Tuesday Lord Ballim travelled to Worcester for the ‘Angel Hotel Pershore Pensham Handicap Hurdle’. Kieren Buckley our yard amateur partnered Lord Ballim to finish 2nd with only ½ a length between the winner and himself. Nigel says “Kieren gave Lord Ballim a lovely ride and settled him extremely well. It was great to see he saw the trip out and we are sure to have plenty more fun with him”.

(Lord Ballim and Katie Bennett)

Not only where we busy on Tuesday with runners we also brought in more horses from the field ready to start their training. This included a lovely 3yr old Kapgarde filly who looks to be a very exciting prospect.

Next week is looking rather busy for us as we have plenty of entries across the weekend and the week. On Sunday we have Mutoondresdashorse, Take a Break and Calin Du Brizais all entered at Market Rasen and on Monday we have The Boola Bee and Georgina Joy entered at Newton Abbot.

Upcoming Entries

Mutoondresdashorse – Sunday at Market Rasen

Calin Du Brizais – Sunday at Market Rasen

Take A Break – Sunday at Market Rasen

Georgina Joy – Monday at Newton Abbot

The Boola Bee – Monday at Newton Abbot

Flints Legacy- 6 year old grey mare by Sagamix. Ready to go Novice Chasing this season. ( 40% left available)

Kapgarde / Doubly Guest– Nice filly by one of our favourite sires, very mature looking for her age with an excellent pedigree, a good walker and a very correct individual. Dam won four and was placed in a grade two rated 137

Arcadio/ Regents Ballerina– Strong gelding by a sire that’s getting lots of bumper winners, he’s a half-brother to two winners and from the family of the mighty Regents Pride and has a lot of scope, should be a lovely horse in time.

Kayf Tara/ Brackets – Very sharp forward going filly by the very successful Kayf Tara. Closely related to Pure Faith who was listed and grade two placed. She’s very athletic and will come to hand quickly.
