Nigel Hawke’s Thorne Farm Racing Blog- Friday 12th October 2018

Last Friday we travelled to Hexham racecourse with Mead Vale, Lady Mix and Lamh Ar Lamh. Mead Vale ran an absolute blinder finishing 2nd in a competitive Novices hurdle. He was given a brilliant ride by Danny Cook to only be beaten 2 and 3/4 lengths by a horse rated 132.

Mead Vale

Lady Mix went on to run a great race to finish 2nd under our yard conditional Tom Buckley. The pair were very unlucky to be beaten a length and a half by the champion jockey riding one for Gordon Elliott. Lamh Ar Lamh was also partnered by Tom Buckley to finish 5th with only 8 lengths between her and 1st place. She settled brilliantly and stayed on until the line.

We have an exciting weekend ahead of us with Heart Of Kernow making an appearance at Hexham on Saturday to start his chasing campaign. He has had 2 runs around Hexham already and both have been wins. Hopefully he can carry on his winning ways and make it a hat- rick.
