Nigel Hawke’s Thorne Farm Racing Blog – Friday 9th November 2018

This week got off to a fantastic start with Georgina Joy at Hereford on Monday. With our yard conditional jockey Tom Buckley aboard, the pair put on a serious performance leading from start to finish. Georgina Joy jumped fantastically and won the ‘Westons Cider Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle’ by 4 lengths. Not only was this a great success for Tom and Georgina but also for The Nigel Hawke Racing Club, this was the first winner for the club since being formed.

Following on the great success on Monday Lamh Ar Lamh went to Plumpton for the ‘Mare’s Handicap Hurdle’. She was partnered by Sean Bowen who had her brilliantly settled from the off. Having come from the back she rallied on well to finish 2nd only beaten 3 lengths.

Yesterday at Sedgefield Calin Du Brizais ran yet another cracking race to finish 2nd, with his usual partner Kieren Buckley on board the pair where extremely unlucky to only be beaten a neck.

On Monday we have Nachi Falls entered over hurdles and Heart Of Kernow entered over fences at Kempton.
On Tuesday we have Mead Vale and Camron De Chaillac entered at Hereford. This will be Camron De Chaillac’s first run back after his summer break as we have just been waiting for the rain for him.
On Wednesday we have Pearl Royale’s half- sister Sienna Royale entered at Exeter. This will be her first run back after her summer break and we look forward to seeing what she has learnt from her two runs last season. We also have Miss Rocher entered at Exeter who is also coming back after a break and will be running first time over hurdles.
