Nigel Hawke’s Thorne Farm Racing Blog – Friday 16th November 2018

This week has been another brilliant week for us at Thorne Farm Racing.

On Thursday we went to Taunton with 2 runners. Georgina Joy was in the first race the ‘Cornish Rock Gin Handicap Hurdle’. Partnered by our yard conditional jockey Tom Buckley, the pair led most of the way and were extremely unlucky to be overtaken by the very close 2nd favourite. Georgina Joy stayed on to finish 2nd. Mead Vale was in the 5th race of the day the ‘Invest Southwest Handicap Hurdle’. Originally Tom Cannon was meant to take the ride but having to go to ride at Ludlow instead Tom Buckley partnered Mead Vale. The pair tracked the leaders all the way until turning for home where Mead Vale got his head in front and battled it out until the finish. It was another great win for Tom Buckley and the Nigel Hawke Racing Club.

With the point to point season starting on Sunday Nigel’s wife Katherine will be sending out a few of her horses. Atlantic King will be running in the 2m4f maiden, after showing some good form under rules before a break we would hope he will gain his confidence back pointing. If he runs well, we would like to see him back under Nigel’s name on the National hunt tracks. Our other runner is Aloneamongmillions whom is Heart of Kernow’s half-brother. Like Atlantic King we would like to get his confidence up to possibly go under rules.

This weekend we also have a couple of runners at Cheltenham. Le Musee runs tomorrow and Camron De Chaillac on Sunday.

Upcoming Entries

Le Musee – Cheltenham on Saturday

Camron De Chaillac – Cheltenham on Sunday

Lamh Ar lamh – Plumpton on Monday

Heart Of Kernow – Chepstow on Wednesday

Speredek – Ascot on Saturday
