Last Saturday Tokyo Javilex won at Fontwell in the Southern Water Bag It And Bin It Handicap Hurdle, over 3 miles, to give our amateur Lee Drowne his first winner under rules for Thorne Farm Racing. (View race video)
Tokyo Javilex has had an incredible revival of form compared to when he was running over fences, he simply didn’t want to know. It’s a testament to the team at Thorne Farm Racing that he has come back to form, well done everyone!
The very next day Master Neo ran at Uttoxeter and fell at the eighth fence. No harm came to horse or jockey but it soon brings you down to earth after having a winner the previous day. That’s the thing about racing, highs and lows but as long as horse and rider are ok then that’s the main thing and there’s always another day.
With some rain forecast hopefully the ground will ease and then we shall have some more runners that have been waiting for a bit of soft ground. One of those is Bellini Dubreau , a very nice four year old French bred gelding owned by Air Commodore & Mrs Martin Hallam. He’s entered in a bumper at Chepstow this Sunday. It’s his first run so we will learn a lot. If he runs and the ground is ok for him then he’s an exciting prospect for Thorne Farm this season.
