Nigel Hawke’s Thorne Farm Racing Blog 21 April 2017
Thorne Farm has had a very quiet week with the season ending this weekend….
A quiet week last week with only a few runners, unfortunately Petergate got injured when running a big race at Fontwell and will be out for quite a while, it’s a real shame because he would have had a great summer campaign but these things happen in racing and he’s being well looked after here at Thorne farm. Deauville Crystal ran below par at Cheltenham and will now have a nice break out at grass, she’s done very well winning three times and picking up £47,359 in prize money and will be one to follow next season. Nachi Falls ran well on the flat last Saturday and runs again this Saturday then we shall aim him at the two mile handicaps on the flat and see how he gets on. Lord Ballim was unlucky to unseat his rider at Perth on Wednesday and runs again at Perth on Friday, he’s always been a bit clumsy but if he jumps well he won’t be far away. The season ends this weekend and it’s been a very good one for us, there will be a review in next weeks blog!
