Nigel Hawke’s Thorne Farm Racing Blog 18 August 2017

We have a very busy week coming up…

Both horses that raced this week ran good races, Atlantic King was third at Bangor on Wednesday and only got beaten by five lengths, he struggled early on and then stayed on really well to grab third place. It was his first run over fences and hopefully he can build on that. Patsy Oriel ran on the same day at Newton Abbot and finished third in a novice hurdle staying on well at the finish. He will come on a lot for that run and will probably run over fences next time. This weekend we have runners at Market Rasen, Pomme runs in the novice hurdle and is in great form after winning there last time, Brigid Jo is in the same race, she ran at Uttoxeter last time and was very green so she needs to improve this time. At Newton abbot next Tuesday we’ve entered Calin du Brizas and Buffalo Sabre, Calin is back over hurdles where he is well in compared to his rating over fences, he also loves the track and the trip so we’re hopeful of a good run. Buffalo is in the conditional chase and has been going well but has something to prove. Thursday we have a nice horse called Dharoos entered for Worcester and as long as the ground is safe he should run. Thursday stable star Nachi Falls will be entered for Stratford in a novice chase and Atlantic King entered for Fontwell so after a quiet time we could have a busy week next week.
