Nigel Hawke’s Thorne Farm Racing Blog 03 November 2017

It’s a quiet weekend this week with only one possible runner and that’s only if we have the rain that’s been forecast. Speredek is in a two mile handicap chase at Ascot and it’s his first run of the season. He’s won his last three so let’s hope he keeps improving, he’s a lovely horse and is ready to run a big race. Monday we have Tequila Secret at Plumpton and Atlantic King at Southwell, both have each way chances and are in good form. On Wednesday Speronimo is in a handicap  hurdle at Chepstow and must be better than his last run, he’s a big horse and a slow learner. Thursday Greybougg and Nachi Falls are entered for Newbury, Nachi made a terrible mistake at Cheltenham last time which was very unlike him, for a moment we thought he’d been injured but thankfully he was fine. On Friday Deauville Crystal is entered at Fontwell in a mares beginners chase and having run well behind a good horse last time has every right to take her chance.
