Nigel Hawke’s Thorne Farm Racing Blog 11 December 2017

We had a busy Sunday….

Unusually for us we had three runners at Wadebridge point to point on Sunday, Samingarry ran in the novice riders race and finished really well snatching third close to home. Samingarry was well ridden by Kieren Buckley and seemed to really enjoy the drop in class, he will probably go back there again for the next meeting. Double Captain ran next in the restricted race and also finished third, he was ridden by Naomi Simms who is the daughter of the very much underrated ex jockey Martin Simms who is also the owner. Naomi and Double Captain gelled really well and will be winning before long. Bellini Dubreau ran in the maiden and was running a big race when unseating his rider with a circuit to go, it’s a shame when that happens because your always thinking what if but that’s racing its full of what ifs, horse and jockey were alright and that’s the main thing. This week’s entries are Georgina Joy at Taunton, she’s learning and improving all the time. Friday at Doncaster we have Lady Mix, Farmer Lad and Sir Mix all ground dependant.
